Diakopto is a small town and a former municipality in Achaea, a county of Peloponnesus, which is situated in West Greece. The town of Diakopto is situated on the Gulf of Corinth, near the mouth of the Vouraikos river and at the lower end of the Vouraikos Gorge. Its population is apporximetely 2500 residents.
How to get here
Diakopto is located on the old Greek National Road 8 and 1km north of the new Greek National Road 8A (Olympia Odos motorway). Diakopto is located about 40 km east of Patras , and 15km southeast of Aigio. You can also approach Diakopto by bus, using the regular itinerary of KTEL of Achaea, from Patras or Athens. You can also reach Diakopto by the suburban train (from Athens center, Piraeus port or Athens airport to Kiato and transfer from Kiato to Diakopto).
